In the ‘80s, television antennas can be seen on people’s roofs. If you had them, it means that you have a TV set, of course! Funny during those times only the very rich could afford one. Your antenna could make you famous in the block since children from within the neighborhood would flock to your house to watch the evening shows.
Now, television sets are a lot more affordable that even those who are not that rich could afford one. With antennas, you could enjoy more channels, and the signal is a lot clearer. Modern antennas do not have to be installed on top of roofs, so it’s quite seldom that you would see those kinds in people’s houses these days.
Of course with the advent of the cable TV, people could have access to channels abroad. It’s amazing how technology has developed over the years. Not to mention of course that TVs now have a lot of modern designs. Those flat screens that we used to see only on movies are now readily available in stores, and they are not really that crazy expensive at all! I really wonder how television sets and antennas would look like a decade from now?
