My heart breaks when I hear of stories of people who lost their loved ones in the tragic flooding that hit two cities that are not really far from where we are. I have special friends who have been affected, and I am amazed at how they survived the ordeal.
For the past month I have personally been active in sending aid to affected families, and it brings so much fulfillment just to be of help. I wish I could send great sympathy flowers to all those who are grieving at their loss, but that would not be possible at this time. I am just glad that so many people, even outside the Philippines have responded to the need of the hour, providing the victims with clothes, food and temporary shelter.
